This Week's Special Episode of 'Hooked on Utah' Details the Powerful Story of Utahan Matt King's Struggle With Terminal Pancreatic Cancer and a Hunt His Son Will Remember for a Lifetime
NOV 6, 2009 - 16:11 ET
LINDON, UT--(Marketwire - November 6, 2009) - Lindon resident Matt King has lived longer than
his doctors expected when they diagnosed him with terminal pancreatic
cancer six months ago. Matt, 44, his wife Jodi and their three children,
Courtney, Cooper, and Reiney are residents of Lindon, Utah, and since the
diagnosis, Matt and Jodi have focused on creating memories with their
children that will strengthen them as they go through life without their
dad.
Hooked on Utah's host and Adventure Guide, Gary Winterton, was honored to
have been part of this endeavor. Together with the Utah CWMU Association,
Round Valley Outfitters, and SilverEagle Feed & Fuel, 'Hooked on Utah' put
together a fully guided deer hunt for Matt and Cooper, and the episode
featuring their hunt will air this Saturday at 6:30 pm on KSL Channel 5.
"This was an amazing experience for everyone involved, and I'm so grateful
for the people that joined together and donated the tag, food, and guide
services to make it happen. Matt and Cooper had a great hunt and a profound
father and son experience that I think our viewers will find powerful."
