CALGARY, ALBERTA--The Forzani Group Ltd (TSE : FGL)., Canada's 
largest sporting goods retailer, will go live with their 
www.sportchek.ca site on Monday, June 11, 2001.   The site will 
offer consumers over 4,000 different items and will feature four 
major verticals, plus over 16 different activities and 
shops....everything from basketball to walking.  Consumers will 
have access to the widest selection of brand-name sporting goods 
available on the web in Canada today.   Within each vertical, 
consumers can learn about products and get helpful tips from the 
"How to Buy Guides and Check Lists".  As well, customers will be 
offered the opportunity to pick-up, return and/or exchange items 
at all our bricks & mortar stores free of charge.

on-line sales is only a small part of our internet strategy.  The 
major reason for developing an e-commerce site is to build strong 
relationships with our customers.   The site will be both 
educational and informative with such features as How to Buy 
Guides and accesses to sports news via our partnership with TSN.

Sportchek.ca will also feature a "What's In Store" section that 
provides the latest sales events and store promotions.   Consumers
will also be able to access sportchek.ca by way of in-store 
kiosks.

is equipped with a content management system that allows the 
Company's staff to easily update content including product 
information, promotions, and product related stories.
