More on Gowest's New Platinum Discovery in Manitoba

Shares Issued and Outstanding: 9,709,333

Gowest's new platinum discovery is located 35 kilometres
southwest of Thompson, Manitoba at Cuthbert Lake. A series of
grab samples have been taken from rock exposure along the
southwest shore of Cuthbert Lake for a length of about 150
metres. Obscured by overburden and water, the character and
dimensions of the mineralization are difficult to ascertain. It
is apparent, however, that the mineralization is up to 3 metres
wide and disappears below water and overburden to the north and
south, respectively.

Nine samples contain significant platinum group metals associated
with high nickel - copper values. Assays for the platinum group
metals (palladium, platinum and rhodium) + gold, range from 1.6
to 4.2 grams and average 2.5 grams. Nickel and copper combined
average 1.78 per cent. These values may not be entirely
representative of the gabbroic host rock because of the selective
nature of a grab sample. On the other hand, alternative sampling
methods were not feasible because of the limited exposure of
rock.

The platinum bearing gabbroic rock is a phase of a large mafic to
ultramafic intrusion termed the Cuthbert Lake dyke, an intrusive
complex originally fed by multiple, discrete injections of
geochemically similar magnesium rich magma. Peridotite forms the
central portion of the dyke trending northerly in the central
portion of Cuthbert Lake. The smaller offshoots along the western
margin of the dyke, some of which host the platinum group metals,
vary from a few metres to tens of metres in width and strike
northerly like the main dyke. These gabbroic offshoots,
exhibiting minor folding and recrystallization, are emplaced in
paragneiss.

To better ascertain the character and dimensions of the Cuthbert
Lake platinum mineralization within Gowest's large holding of
1800 hectares, hydraulic overburden stripping is underway. It is
expected that the increased exposure of bedrock will greatly
assist in determining the appropriate next step in the evaluation
of the platinum metal mineralization.
