Platinum Group Elements (PGEs) Confirmed on Gowest's
Manitoba Properties

Samples collected by government geologists have identified and
confirmed the presence of PGEs on the properties of Gowest
Amalgamated Resources, south of Thompson, Manitoba. The
previously confidential information was disclosed in Open File
Report OF 2000-5 just released (June 12) by Manitoba Industry
Trade and Mines.

Referring to the Wintering Lake mafic-ultramafic intrusions, the
Report states as follows: "One sample of semi-massive pyrrhotite
and chalcopyrite obtained by Peck et al (1996) from the Murray
Island occurrence returned 1.3 g/t Pd (palladium) -- " Gowest
holds more than 2000 hectares in this area covering this
occurrence and two others. Partially complete analyses from
current sampling conducted by Gowest reveal similar PGE values at
Murray Island and another location.

Elsewhere in the report referring to the Cuthbert Lake Dyke,
another mafic-ultramafic intrusion, it is stated: "Anomalously
high PGE and Cu-Ni (copper-nickel) contents, including up to 3.38
g/t combined Pd+Pt+Au (palladium+platinum+gold), including up to
1.67 g/t of Pd and up to 1.4% Cu and 0.46% Ni were obtained by E.
Chaboyer (Thompson, Manitoba) and D. Peck (Manitoba Geological
Survey) from the western shore line of Cuthbert Lake in the
vicinity of historical trenches along the western margin of the
dyke". Furthermore, the report states that: "Given the recently
discovered Cu-PGE mineralization (by E. Chaboyer) along the
western margin of the dyke, additional exploration of the
Cuthbert Lake Dyke is recommended. ---Additional detailed
mapping, surface exploration, drilling and metamorphic petrology
will be needed to resolve the mineral potential --- of the dyke".

Gowest holds nearly 1800 hectares of land in the Cuthbert Lake
mineralized area. Surface work is just getting underway and it is
expected that the above recommendations will be implemented.
