Gowest Amalgamated Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce that it
has acquired the option to buy mining rights to property totaling
3,531 hectares near Thompson in northern Manitoba. These claims
cover two platinum group mineral occurrences, which according to
geologists of the Manitoba Minerals Division (1966), are located
in rock considered favourable to magmatic sulphide mineralization

The area of interest is over 10 km long. Much of the
mineralization forming the mineral occurrences has previously
been covered by lake water. However, unusually low water levels
at the present time will allow unobscured examination and
sampling of the occurrences and provide substantial unexplored
terrane along the shore lines.

Therefore, it is planned to carefully prospect the area,
focussing on the previously water covered area. Promising
mineralization will be exposed by rock trenching, then sampled
and assayed. Where significant platinum group metals are detected
geophysical work will be undertaken in preparation for drilling.
The work will start in about a month.

Gowest subject to regulatory approval, may acquire the claims by
making option payments totalling $100,000 over three years and
pay a two per cent royalty from production revenues.

The final report on the five hole drilling program in Cavelier
Township, Quebec has just been received. The project consultants
conclude that anomalous gold environments are present on the
property and for selected areas have recommended geophysical
surveys and further drilling.

In hole 20-04 a 6.7 metre wide mineralized iron formation was
intersected which had a best assay of 5.29 grams of gold over
0.40 metres. A Company having major holdings in the area has
expressed interest in the property. Subject to further
discussions, a proposal will be given careful consideration.
