Gowest Amalgamated Resources Ltd: Frankfield Drilling-Fifth
Report

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 13, 2004) - Gowest expects
that drilling will restart on the Gowest - New Texmont (50:50)
joint venture in about a week. The drilling has been suspended
because of flooding of our access road. This gold property is
located in Tully Township, northeast of Timmins, Ontario. As soon
as the drill on site is recovering core, a second rig will be
moved to the property. This will speed up acquisition of data in
our detailed program, involving intersection of the main gold
zone at 50 metre intervals, horizontally and vertically.

Elsewhere, at Detour Lake, 200 kilometres northeast of Timmins,
Trade Winds Ventures (TWD - TSX) has been drilling within one
kilometre of our joint boundary. As indicated by their news
release, dated May 3, 2004, assay results are promising. Gowest
has been informed by Trade Winds officials that they expect to
commence drilling on the Gowest property to test for the westward
extension of the M Zone structure by early summer. Gowest and
Trade Winds signed an option agreement concerning Gowest's
holdings at Detour Lake in November, 2003.

Finally, Gowest is pleased to announce the election of Donald
Rankin to the Board of Directors effective April 23, 2004.
