Joint Venture Agreement Between Gowest Amalgamated
Resources Ltd. and GeoNova Explorations Inc.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Gowest Amalgamated Resources Ltd. and GeoNova 
Explorations Inc. have recently executed a joint venture agreement
on a property of about 675 acres (or 275 ha) in Cavelier Township 
in northwestern Quebec.  GeoNova will be the operator of the 50 : 
50 joint venture. 

The easterly trending Casa Berardi fault associated with 
significant gold mineralization, traverses the claim group for 
about one mile.  A series of four holes were drilled along the 
conductive fault zone in 1995-96.  The deeper boring, 96-20, had a
gold intersection of 11 gram Au per tonne over 4 meters (13 feet 
of 0.32 oz Au per ton) (press release dated March 19, 1996) near 
the centre of the claim group.  Moreover, previous drilling 
intersected a wide section of massive, bleached, carbonatized 
volcanic rock which is an ideal host for gold deposition. 

Management of the joint venture has scheduled a six hole drill 
program, starting in February, to test the dimensions of the gold 
mineralization along the Casa Berardi fault.  Dependent on 
results, the program may be extended.
