Gowest Drilling at Molybdenite Lake

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2008) - Gowest Amalgamated Resources Ltd.(TSX VENTURE:GWA) is pleased to announce that finally, drilling has commenced at our Molybdenite Lake property, 15 kilometres northwest of Wawa, Ontario.
In 2007 Gowest prospectors discovered five new metal occurrences along the shore of the Lake; previously known showings along the southeast shore of the Lake are documented in government reports. In the fall of 2007 eleven separate locations including four where new mineralization is present were selected for careful sampling. Final assaying from the eleven one tonne bulk samples is near completion. The outline of Molybdenite Lake is a remarkable reflection of the underlying intersecting fault structures which are spatially if not genetically related to the moly mineralization. Therefore, drill targetting the unexplored Lake for the big fish, to use a metaphor understood by most readers, is a logical deduction. With regard to the drilling, the reader can be assured that Gowest is taking the appropriate measures to prevent any degradation of the Lake. Molybdenite Lake although not large, about 100 hectares, is unique and pristine.
Object of our carefully engineered sampling program at the eleven separate locations is two fold. Firstly, the one tonne bulk samples processed in a sampling tower will provide metal assays that are truly representative of the mineralization in place at each location. Secondly, comparing the assays from saw cut channel and muck samples with the bulk samples will provide an understanding, if not a factor, for the treatment of drill core samples. It is expected that assay data for the bulk samples will be available within the next couple of weeks when we shall be able to undertake the appropriate statistical analyses and announce the results.
