Pratt & Whitney Canada and DayJet Sign Major Maintenance Deal for PW610 Engine Fleet
SEP 26, 2007 - 10:00 ET
NBAA, ATLANTA, GEORGIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 26, 2007) - Pratt & Whitney Canada has signed a major Fleet Management Program contract with DayJet Services, LLC, to maintain the PW610F engines powering DayJet's Eclipse 500 very light jets. Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is a United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) company.
"This is a breakthrough agreement for P&WC, as DayJet introduces its innovative per-seat, on-demand jet service to the market," said Raffaele Virgili, Vice President, Service Centres, P&WC. "It underscores the competitiveness of P&WC's innovative programs and the strength of our global customer support network to fully meet the maintenance needs of operators powered by our PW600 engines."
The Fleet Management Program (FMP®) agreement with DayJet Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of DayJet Corporation, provides comprehensive coverage for hot-section inspections, overhauls, basic unscheduled engine removals and engine trend-condition monitoring.
"P&WC's pay-by-the-hour FMP coverage will enable DayJet to better plan its engine maintenance expenditures," said Mark Reed, DayJet Vice President, Maintenance Operations. "This agreement adds considerable value by taking the guesswork out of our engine maintenance program, while providing very attractive cost guarantee protection and enhancing our overall competitiveness."
The FMP agreement with DayJet and other fleet operators is one aspect of P&WC's initiative to provide robust support to PW600 engine operators as they enter service. The company is also offering innovative maintenance coverage to individual operators in collaboration with aircraft manufacturers through comprehensive programs. Additionally, P&WC has extended its Eagle Service Plan (ESP®) to PW610F-powered Eclipse 500 operators in Europe to support their engine maintenance needs.
P&WC engines are backed by its global customer support network, including the recently launched Customer First Centre for 24-7 frontline assistance, over 30 P&WC-owned and designated service facilities, field representatives on all major continents, mobile repair teams available around the clock, the largest pool of P&WC rental and exchange engines in the industry, and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
Pratt & Whitney Canada, based in Longueuil, Que., is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines powering business, general aviation and regional aircraft and helicopters. The company also manufactures auxiliary power units and industrial gas turbines. United Technologies, based in Hartford, Conn., USA, is a diversified company providing high technology products and services to the global aerospace and building industries.
